Unbiological Sisters

I am the kind of person who talks a lot, especially when I'm comfortable with my surroundings. I love being surrounded with great environment - good chats, good drinks, good laughs with buddies... But I easily find myself rather lonely in a crowded place. Not that I feel like I don't have any friends - sometimes it's just hard to meet someone else who understands each other. Good friends make you happy. It is always comforting, knowing that your best friends support you. My best friends are my true friends. I don't see them often now, but I know they're always there. We all have friends but some friends are more special than others, friends you can not live without. They are like a lifelong precious treasure.

I joined the campus choir in mid 2011, in hopes that I would find happiness and friends who share the same interests: music. Of course I met a lot of new friends, but nobody really talked to me back then. It wasn't until a year later in August 2012 when we joined a big competition in Bali. One night in Bali during the competition, I had a very late night conversation with one of the soprano girls I never really talked to - Ajeng. Little did I know myself, she would be one of my best friends.

We didn't do good in Bali. We did not achieve our targets in that competition. We were devastated - it felt like we were thrown to the rock bottom. We decided to join another competition in November that year - but we needed more people in the choir.

We recruited new members for that November competition. There was this girl, Chacha, who auditioned earlier before Bali, but she wasn't included in the Bali squad. So she jumped in the November squad. We literally practiced our butts almost 24/7 every week. Ajeng was always the one dropping me home - quite generous of her, and I donated gas money for it. We quite enjoyed our company for each other: We often had meals, snacks, or just wee drinks after rehearsal. One day, we found out that Chacha lives in the same area as Ajeng - and she started hopping onto the same ride. The three of us have been the closest friends ever since.

We all have different characters and personalities. I would say that Chacha is the most childish/demanding one since she's the youngest. Ajeng is the most introvert one and I am... just me. They say I'm quite wise, yet evil, and very sentimental - for whatever that means. I genuinely feel that they're the best of friends anyone could ever ask for. They are that type of person who are not afraid to see you without makeup, or after I've been crying for hours and hours, or when my life is a complete mess. They are not afraid to show me their true selves. They are real (for God's sake I don't even know what "real" means but they are pretty much it), they are honest, and they will tell me the truth when I ask their opinions. There is always a fine line between expressing concerns and expressing judgments (Even though this doesn't really apply to Chacha because she is very judgmental like 300% on point judgmental). They are my true friends. True friends will always tell you the truth - and will let you know they will always be on your side no matter what decision you make even if, in their opinion, it's the wrong one.

There have been times when we had our own ups and downs. Of course, we could be pretty annoying to each other. We've had fights and arguments. On some days, it felt like we grew apart. But what's a friendship without ups and downs? There have been times that I've been more upset than ever, yet they were always there to give me an unconditional love.

As far as true friends go, I couldn't wish for a better one. They are my best friends and I love them heaps.
